    Thomas Stewart is a new member at Turnstone Archaeology. Thomas graduated from the University of Southern Queensland with a Bachelor of Arts degree double majoring in archaeology and anthropology, minoring in history. The University of Southern Queensland’s archaeology and anthropology divisions focus on cultural heritage and social justice issues.

    Thomas has been working in the collections team at the Abbey Museum of Art and Archaeology since the beginning of 2022 where he has learned fundamental skills in archiving and research.

    As a new member of Turnstone Archaeology Thomas has begun working with Indigenous communities across Queensland to help develop the skills required to protect cultural heritage. Thomas is eager to work with traditional owners and to learn as much as possible.

    Gugu Badhun People, 2022-2023

    Cultural heritage adviser for the Gugu Badhun people at the Gawara Baya Windfarm and North Queensland Defence Project areas to undertake cultural heritage surveying, mitigation and reporting.

    Widi People, 2023 – ongoing

    Cultural heritage adviser for the Widi People of the Nebo Estate at the Eungella QLD Hydro Project areas, to undertake cultural heritage surveying, mitigation and reporting.
